IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships 2018 In Calgary, Canada

The 6th World Classic Powerlifting Championships is being held from 6 June until 17 June
in Calgary, Canada. This is one of the biggest Championships in the IPF, there will be 750 lifters from 52 nations competing for the gold! There is 429 male and 321 female lifters, which makes it one of the biggest Championships ever held in North America. Lifters, coaches and officials have come from all over the world from nations like New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, Ireland, Iran, USA and of course the host nation Canada. The Championships includes the Master lifters which is lifters from 40+ years old, Sub-Juniors & Junior lifters competes from 10 June and the Open lifters starts 14 June!

There will be big fights for medals, especially for the Open class lifters. The 63kg Class for women will be one of the biggest battles of the Championships as you have Former World Champion Jennifer Thompson (USA) going against Maria Thee from Canada, Isabella von Weissenberg from Sweden and reigning World Champion from Slovakia Ivana Horna.

The last day of the World Championships will finish with the biggest men, and it will include the 4 x World Champion Ray Williams from USA! Ray Williams will be looking to break his world record in squat which stands at 477.5kg!
